By far, the best outing of the new Trek. I loved the comraderie, the execution, the smart thoughts of everybody, and the can-do-everything of Scotty. Physics is pretty cool on the space city, but goes out the window elsewhere, as somehow the saucer gets caught in the planet's gravity as it's moving far out into the nebula, heading in the other direction. Since when can you apply for a Vice-Admiral position? Are ranks posted positions in Starfleet? Regardless, the movie was a lot of fun, with great character work and even a good plot. I'd definitely take more of this.

Quite enjoyable, except for the revelation that the bad guy was an old Starfleet captain gone rogue. The best character development was between McCoy and Spock, but I really liked the path that Kirk took, also. But I think the best part of this movie was the way it used the entire cast. It wasn't just a Kirk or Spock story. It was a true ensemble.

Much better than the previous two movies, I think. I have to wonder at the incredible ability of the drones to destroy everything. It overwhelmed the Enterprise in seconds, while it took way too long to infiltrate the space city. The city itself was stunning, visualized like a Ringworld, and others that I've read about before, and even created. The villain was disappointing, though, and many of the tricks used in defeating him seemed more like stunts. I think some of the scenes between McCoy and Spock were among the finest ones, though. And the tribute to old Spock and the original crew in the photo from The Undiscovered Country was great.
