-- First reading (audiobook)

As an abridged audiobook, I found this to be too short. The basics of what the author talks about is common sense, but formalized, which is always a good thing, as common sense isn’t always something we follow. I liked the way the author gave personal examples of the things he describing, as they were very instructive. I wish there had been more, however. The different circles of trust, along with the thirteen good habits of successful business people made sense, but were not revolutionary. The thirteen habits were listed almost in textbook form, which might be good for reference, but not so much in audiobook form, which felt repetitive. I listened to the first half twice in the car, as it was too easy to be distracted. In all, I found the book to be interesting, but more like a pep talk than something I will think of and apply consciously. On the other hand, the book did bring my attention to several things I can improve in my own daily routine, dealing with people and customers alike, so I guess that serves its purpose. |
